As a premier global automotive service competition, the Audi Twin Cup is not only a contest of technical skill but also a key showcase of Audi's brand philosophy, "Vorsprung durch Technik" (Progress through Technology). To create an unprecedented brand experience for the 2025 Global Final Opening Ceremony, Audi and Feng-Yi sought to produce a spectacular opening show that perfectly fused a sense of technology, precision, and artistry. The core challenge was that traditional stage lighting fails to capture the essence of Audi's design—its precision lines and dynamic elegance. The project's goal, therefore, was to introduce a revolutionary visual language, making the "Kinetic Bar" system by Guangzhou Feng-Yi Lighting the central solution to this vision.
◉ Project Challenges
From a technical execution standpoint, the greatest challenge was achieving absolute frame-perfect synchronization between the kinetic movements (lift, rotation, and color changes) of hundreds of "Kinetic Bars" and the on-stage Audi vehicles, the brand video on the giant LED screen, and the powerful orchestral score. Any minuscule timing deviation would compromise the precision and perfection that the Audi brand embodies—a failure that was simply not an option.
In terms of resources and time, the ceremony's creative concept involved a vast amount of complex kinetic choreography within an extremely limited rehearsal schedule.
The task of programming the "Kinetic Bar" system to perfectly render abstract concepts of Audi's design aesthetic—such as signature streamlines and matrix patterns—in just a few days placed unprecedented demands on the efficiency and expertise of our lighting design and technical teams.
On a coordination level, the project required multi-party collaboration with brand representatives from Audi's German headquarters, the director's team, and the lead event agency. A critical barrier was accurately translating Audi's rigorous and abstract German industrial design language into a visual stage language that the creative team could understand and that our lighting technology could ultimately bring to life.

We proposed the design philosophy of "Shaping Technology with Light, Moving the Future with Shadows" and implemented the following solutions:
To achieve absolute synchronization, we implemented a comprehensive, timecode-based control solution. Feng-Yi Lighting's "Kinetic Bar" system utilized a dedicated server to receive a unified time signal from the central show control, ensuring every movement was perfectly aligned with each frame of video and every beat of music. We also integrated full system redundancy to guarantee a flawless live broadcast.
Facing a tight production schedule, we introduced a "Digital Twin" pre-visualization workflow. Before arriving on-site, we created a 1:1 virtual model of the stage in 3D simulation software, allowing us to complete over 90% of the lighting programming and effect previews in advance.
