As 3,000 intangible cultural heritage palace lanterns light up together,
as a huge translucent veil slowly descends beneath Wenfeng Pagoda,
and as flying fairies scattering flowers intertwine with verses from Ode to the Luo River Goddess —
Luoyi Ancient City, known as the “Central Plains Ferry,” has embraced a luminous transformation in spring 2026.
The Kinetic Lifting Veil, created by Fengyi Stage, officially debuts as a programmable, precise, and poetic dynamic installation,
adding a brand-new visual chapter to the night tour experience: Dreams of Sui and Tang, All in Luoyi.
I. Project Background: When a Viral Tourist Spot Meets Programmable Light & Shadow
Since opening in 2017, Luoyi Ancient City has become a flagship cultural attraction in Luoyang and Henan.
Centered on Wenfeng Pagoda, the site hosts over 200 intangible cultural heritage items and receives more than 10 million visitors annually.
During the 2026 Peony Culture Festival, the park launched the Peony Fantasy Tour series.
To enhance immersive night experiences, Fengyi Stage was commissioned to create a dynamic light installation
that harmonizes with ancient architecture while delivering strong visual impact.
The solution:
a Kinetic Lifting Veil — 8m high, 12m wide —
suspended between Wenfeng Pagoda and the palace lantern zone,
acting as a luminous medium connecting past and present.
II. Design Philosophy: Veil as Paper, Light as Ink
Luoyi Ancient City features an elegant, refined aesthetic of grey bricks, dark tiles, and red lanterns.
Rather than grand laser arrays, a softer expression was needed.
Fengyi’s design philosophy:
Veil as Paper, Light as Ink.
Made of special high-transmittance material,
the veil supports projection while preserving the silhouette of Wenfeng Pagoda.
Driven by high-precision servo motors and closed-loop encoders,
it lifts smoothly at up to 0.6 m/s with ±1 mm positioning accuracy.
Light passing through creates a misty Tyndall effect,
blending reality and illusion to evoke a celestial palace atmosphere.
III. Technical Core: A Programmable Canvas of Light
At the heart of the Kinetic Lifting Veil is a deeply programmable control system.
Lifting speed, position, and motion are precisely controlled via the grandMA3 console,
supporting DMX512 & Art-Net protocols for seamless integration into the park’s master network.
As a movable projection canvas,
it works with high-lumen projectors and pixel mapping
to display customized content:
poems and patterns on regular days, dynamic videos during festivals —
one scene, thousand faces.

During Peony Fantasy Tour, the veil presents diverse visual expressions:

The veil hovers at 4m, projecting peony and auspicious cloud patterns,
serving as an elegant backdrop for photos.
Dusk · Heavenly Curtain Descends
As night falls, the veil descends gently at 0.3 m/s like an unfolding scroll.
Verses from Ode to the Luo River Goddess appear,
synchronized with “Heavenly Maiden Scattering Flowers” performances.
Fairies dance gracefully, petals swirling in light —
visitors describe it as stepping into a fairyland.

At festival climaxes, the veil executes the Gate of Illusion macro command:
rapidly rising to 8m with three variable-speed pauses,
each triggering a projection shift:
Tang palaces, Song streets, Republican-era walls, modern Luoyang.
The veil becomes a time-traveling gate of light,
condensing a thousand years of history into one lift.

The MOQ for OEM services varies by product type: ≥ 50 units for a single model of conventional lights, and ≥ 20 units for a single model of large equipment such as elevating lights/moving head lights. The following materials need to be provided: the brand trademark registration certificate (or authorization letter), and vector graphics of the OEM logo (AI format is preferred). If modifications to the product manual content (e.g., brand information, contact details) are required, the final version of the text materials must be provided.
