Hins Cheung's "The Next 20" concert series at the Hong Kong Coliseum was a celebration of his two-decade-long career, demanding a stage design that reflected both nostalgic intimacy and grand, theatrical spectacle. The creative vision required a transformative visual centerpiece capable of creating "wow" moments that would resonate emotionally with the audience. Our suspended kinetic performance spheres were selected as the signature scenic element, tasked with evolving from elegant atmospheric fixtures into dynamic, interactive performers that would define key segments of the show, symbolizing themes of ascension, reflection, and celestial connection.

We deployed a fleet of large-diameter, internally illuminated kinetic spheres, each suspended on its own independent high-speed hoist system.

The spheres' internal LED systems were controlled via the same network (Art-Net) as the stage lighting, allowing their color, intensity, and effects (pulsing, strobing, gradient sweeps) to be seamlessly integrated into the overall visual landscape of each song.

We designed a custom, lightweight truss cage and quick-lock connector system for each sphere, allowing the entire array to be flown as a single pre-assembled module, drastically reducing daily rigging time.
