When Zheng Runze brought his "Zeye Qianli" (Boundless Wilderness) tour to Chengdu, the stage design faced the challenge of not only replicating the delicate details of the Suzhou stop but also resonating with the unique aura of this city—it needed to accommodate the intimate whispers of "If" while also the more extroverted energy of "All Night". Therefore, we abandoned simple visual transplantation and instead adopted "Emotional Dynamic Geometry" as the core algorithm to rebuild a programmable narrative field with greater structural tension and depth for the Chengdu stop.
1. Conceptual Reconstruction: Visual Metaphor from "Ripples" to "Layered Mountains"
The overall scheme for Chengdu implanted more architectural linear elements into the circular motif of Suzhou. The core of the stage evolved from a single concentric ring into three sets of arc-shaped LED screens capable of independent vertical lifting and horizontal translation. When combined, they form a complete dome or circular screen; when separated, they create a scattered silhouette of "layered mountains," metaphorically representing the landscape artistic conception and emotional layers of this basin city. The background consists of a beam matrix composed of hundreds of CNC cutting lights, which can precisely control the angle and spot shape, responsible for writing the color and rhythm of emotions. This physical structure of "the union of firmness and gentleness" provides richer spatial variables for programming.
2. System Deepening: Multi-dimensional Parameter Database and Real-time Interaction Logic
The core of professionalism lies in the programming control of "uncertainty." In addition to continuing the underlying architecture of global timecode synchronization, we introduced a more complex real-time data interaction layer for the Chengdu stop. The program modules for some songs were preset with multiple branch paths, the trigger conditions of which are bound to the singer's on-the-spot performance and the audience's chorus sound pressure level captured by professional pickups.
For example, during the performance of "Place of Belonging," the basic program features soft light beams slowly sweeping across the "mountain" contours. However, when the system detects that the audience's chorus volume exceeds a preset threshold, it automatically triggers an "Emotional Enhancement" subroutine: the light beams instantly zoom in and narrow, the brightness increases, and at the same time, the "mountain" screens begin to vibrate slightly, transforming collective resonance into real-time visual reinforcement feedback. This gives each performance a unique "emotional data fingerprint."
3. Effect Realization: Customized Light and Shadow Grammar Based on Urban Temperament
We wrote a brand-new set of light and shadow grammar for the Chengdu stop. In narrative-driven tracks like "News About You," the program controls the beam matrix to abandon fancy movements and instead adopt fixed follow spots and local close-ups similar to a theater stage. The color temperature is strictly controlled at a warm white of 3200K, like laying a steady curtain of light for the singer's monologue. The arc screens only slowly change their pitch angle at an almost imperceptible speed, simulating a perspective of "listening quietly."
When transitioning into a song like "Diving," the program logic changes completely. We call a complex effect generator named "Deep Sea Pressure": the beam color turns dark blue, and the movement trajectory changes from linear scanning to a slow spiral descent; at the same time, the three sets of arc screens tilt inward and lower their height synchronously, physically compressing the space above the stage. Combined with the cool-toned lighting, it creates a sense of immersion and oppression of diving both visually and psychologically. This programming thinking based on the physical imagery of the song is a direct manifestation of technology serving artistic depth.
