Jiangsu TV New Year's Eve Gala: Reconstructing Gala Aesthetics with "Programming Thinking" to Create an "Executable Symphony of Light and Shadow"

When Jiangsu TV's New Year's Eve theme "Light Up Happiness Through Struggle" transcended being a mere slogan and evolved into a technically precise proposition that could be deconstructed and reconstructed, our challenge shifted from artistic creation to a complex "system architecture" project. At its core, this stage scheme is the construction of an "operating system" capable of seamlessly compiling grand narratives, diverse programs, and real-time emotions into a unified visual language.

I. Top-Level Design: From "Visual Spectacle" to "Emotional Computation"

Abandoning the conventional approach of stacking equipment, we established a design philosophy centered on "emotional computation." The stage was abstracted as a massive three-dimensional coordinate system, where all elements—including over 300 numerically controlled profile spotlights, multi-layered lifting mechanical structures, circular LED screens, and floor tiles—were defined as "dynamic pixels" within this system. The overall design features an immersive "light dome" radiating 360 degrees around the main stage as the focal point. Crucially, every change in this "light dome" is not manually operated but driven by pre-written "emotional algorithms" incorporating spatial coordinates and time variables.

II. Technical Hub: Deep Coupling of "Time Axis" and "Space Axis"

The essence of professionalism lies in our leap from "timeline programming" to "time-space matrix programming." Traditional lighting programs only control "which lights to turn on and what colors to switch to at specific times." In this project, however, our central control system (e.g., grandMA3) manages "time-space data packages" containing multi-dimensional parameters such as position, posture, trajectory, brightness, color temperature, and patterns.

For example, instead of a simple "Cue list," we developed an independent program module named "Dawn" for a singer’s inspirational song. When triggered, the module simultaneously instructs: 1) The multi-layered circular mechanical structures to converge toward the center at a specific acceleration; 2) All beam lights to synchronously elevate their angles to simulate the perspective of a sunrise; 3) The color temperature to linearly transition from 2700K warm yellow to 6500K cool white. All of this is completed synchronously within 3 seconds, forming a complete visual metaphor from convergence to eruption. The synchronous interpolation calculation of these multi-dimensional parameters is the technical cornerstone for achieving smooth transitions in grand-scale scenes.

III. Effect Realization: A Customized Program Library Based on "Program DNA"

The lighting design for the entire gala is the invocation and combination of a massive "program library." We developed exclusive "effect generators" for each type of program:

  • Nostalgic Hits: Activates the "Film Texture" generator. The program controls the lights to load soft light filters, reduce contrast, and simulate the slight jitter of old projectors in beam trajectories, with the color temperature locked in a nostalgic amber tone.
  • Sci-Fi Singing & Performance: Launches the "Quantum Matrix" generator. The program takes over all numerically controlled lights, dividing them into several independently moving pixel groups for high-speed, asymmetrical scanning movements. Combined with cool tones and high contrast, it creates a highly digital visual flow.
  • Warm Interviews: Enables the "Low-Light Narrative" mode. The program shuts down all motion and large-area coloring, retaining only precise spotlights and soft backlighting. The light ratio is strictly controlled within 2:1 to ensure the delicate presentation of emotions on the characters’ faces.

These "generators" are not isolated; their switching is achieved through macro commands for "seamless transitions," ensuring the visual coherence and logical flow of the gala’s emotional arc—from the warmth of "family" to the grandeur of "country."

IV. Professional Core: Passionate Emotion Under Rational Code

The professionalism of Jiangsu TV’s New Year's Eve Gala ultimately manifests as a "restrained precision." The most thrilling visuals originate from the calmest code. Through programming, we transformed the director’s artistic intuition into repeatable, verifiable, and fine-tunable data logic. The stage is no longer a passive object waiting to be illuminated, but a "living entity" with independent expressive capabilities. It proves that when lighting design reaches the level of "system architecture," technology ceases to be a mere tool for realizing creativity—it becomes the highest form of creativity itself. It can compile abstract concepts such as "struggle" and "happiness" into a convincing, surging visual testimony that resonates with all.

FAQ
Logistics Services
Can on-site installation services be provided? How is the installation fee calculated?

On-site installation services are supported, and the fee is calculated based on the installation difficulty and region:

▪ Regular installation (e.g., bar PAR lights, front lights in small studios): 50-100 RMB/unit in prefecture-level cities and above, 80-150 RMB/unit in county-level regions.

▪ Large-scale installation (e.g., elevating lights in stadiums, moving head light groups for music festivals): Quoted based on the overall project (including travel expenses of installers and tool usage fees). Specific details require providing the installation site floor plan and the number of lights, and the engineering team will formulate a plan before quoting.

How is the lamp packaging protected? What if damage occurs during transportation?

The packaging adopts three-layer protection: shockproof foam + hard carton + wooden box (for large equipment such as elevating lights). Key parts of the lamp (e.g., moving head light lens, elevating structure) are individually wrapped with EPE foam. If damage occurs during transportation, the customer must take photos (of the damaged packaging and the faulty part of the product) and send them to the logistics department within 24 hours of receipt. We will give priority to reissuing new products (or arranging repairs) and hold the logistics company responsible. The customer does not need to bear additional costs.

Products
The fixture overheats and shuts down. What should I do?

Resolve overheating issues:

1. Environment Check: Ensure the operating temperature ≤60℃; move the fixture away from heat sources (e.g., stage heaters) and ensure 50cm clearance around the fan grille.

2. Fan Maintenance: Clean the fan and fan grille with compressed air (remove dust buildup); check if the fan runs when the fixture is powered on (replace fan if silent).

3. Protection Threshold: Enter "Settings → Temperature Protection" to adjust the threshold (default 60℃, max 80℃) if the environment requires higher operating temperatures.

Wedding & Parties Lighting Solutions
What about after-sales support and training?

On-site training + remote technical support, spare parts availability, and annual inspections. Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for maintenance services are available.
